The weekend of 26-28th October saw the best Juniors from all of UK (Scotland, Wales, Ireland and England) compete in the British Junior Championship held in Nottingham. Spencer's club had 3 juniors taking part.. Nikita Goel playing in her maiden GU11 Gold tournament coming 12th.. remember she's only 8 years old!!( There's more to come from Nikita!!)
Sophie Hill competed in the GU15.. Playing Torrie Malik in the first round.. losing in straight sets to the eventual winner and certainly Torrie will be a bright potential future England star!!
Finally... Congratulations to Annabelle Hill who already is ranked 15th in England GU13'.. came 17th of 32. What a result for a 11 year old. John Gallard believes she will be ready for that top 5 for next year. Annabelle's success has earned her a call up to the National England Girls squad.. Well done.. We look forward to your first cap for England.
In other Junior tournament updates.. Annabelle's twin - Thomas Hill came 5th in the National Silver Manchester Junior Open.. Thomas lost in the 5th 11-9 in the quarters to the eventual finalist.. You are not far.. Good things will come . ... See MoreSee Less

Spencer Juniors are certainly one to watch in the very near future
The club had 4 juniors represented in the recent Silver Nationals down in Lee-on-Solent near Portsmouth.
Huge congrats to Nikita Goel who only at 8 came 10th for her first Girls u11 National tournament. Nikita played some of the top juniors in the country and never looked out of place.. Well done and we are sure your stock in the next season will rise even higher..
Then in the Girls u15… Sophie came in 14th playing all the top juniors in the country..a very tough draw.. she never looked out of place competing with Welsh number 1 who eventually won the tournament.
Finally.. The special mention go to probably the hardest working twins in squash... Thomas came 5th in the Boys u13 losing only to the Welsh number 1 (what's with the Welsh this weekend??) And to Annabelle who surely must be player of season in Surrey county who reached the Girls u13 semis coming in 4th... The Twin Slam again?
Huge thanks to Club Head Coach John Gallard who over the season put in countless sessions for the juniors. If you see the juniors at the club.. Spare a thought for them bc all of them train almost everyday after school.. training in the cold, the heat.. Running around the field...
Here's to the 2018/19 season and we can see great things for the juniors.. We hope for Nikita to win the county u11 spot in autumn and we hope for the twins and Sophie to do the club and sponsors proud .. Having Spencers sit in the National stage... ... See MoreSee Less

Spencers Juniors maintain league position on the Surrey Cup Junior league
Spencers foray into the junior league has been fruitful with Head Coach John Gallard putting the kids in their paces.
Last time round our Juniors beat 3 other teams to secure top position in the league. Just the weekend, the team spearheaded by our very own 10 year Thomas, Sophie, Annabelle Hill and making his debut.. Luca Thomson. "Man of the match" goes to Luca for winning both his matches against David Lloyds.. beating his opponent who was more experienced in squash.. Fantastic result.. credit to Sophie and Thomas who did very well in winning their matches .. Sophie winning 3-2 and Thomas who's playing very well lately beating Michael Chak an England u13 ranked player..
We however could not maintain the pressure against Grafton club who decided this time to put 6 foot teenagers against our little lot.. again credit to Luca who was the only Spencers Junior to snatch a match and Annabelle who stole a game...
We are still top and we will be looking to maintain this league position in 2018 when the league starts again... ... See MoreSee Less
Spencers Club enters Surrey Junior Cup for first time Spencers Juniors today entered the Div 5 Surrey Junior Cup (similar to the adult Surrey Cup). Grafton Squash club hosted the league surrey cup and 4 teams who are able to have 3 players under 16 for boys and girls. Spencers were pit against Grafton, Purley and David Lloyds of Croydon.... and the Juniors made up of our 10 year old Thomas Hill playing at No. 1, Sophie Hill playing 2, and sister Annabelle playing at 3. It was non stop squash playing non stop matches one after the other all Sunday afternoon. The kids were playing kids bigger, taller...but they kept their cool, composure and as Thomas said... 'we did not let the club down...!' All kids played kids way bigger then them, taller, stronger .... and credit to all of them that played their hearts out and putting Spencers on the map for junior development. Credit to Annabelle Hill for being the Player of the tournament, winning matches that she was not expected to - well done Annabelle.
Spencers came out winners today and more importantly created a little Spencer history with first ever Junior club team! Well done kids.. the club is ever so proud....
Sophie and Annabelle Hill win England Squash Copper Event Sophie Hill won the GU`3 event beating Molly Chatwin 2-1 in a hard fought match separated only 1-2 points. Sophie won 9-11, 11-9, 11-7. In the other final Annabelle won her GU11 final winning 11-8, 11-4 against Grace Winton from Bournemouth. Thomas had a tough draw playing Dylon Roberts, the England number 1 junior in the 1/4s going down in straight sets. Thomas then came back to ensure he finished as high as possible coming in 5th. Xan Matuch, Spencer's other new junior did very well in the tournament coming in 4th overall - well done Xan. ... See MoreSee Less
A great performance from Thomas Hill winning the Boys U11 and Sophie Hill winning the Girls U13. Their sister Annabelle did remarkably well by coming in 2nd to her big sister in the GU13 and by beating the 2nd seed in an older age group.
Annabelle came in 2nd in New Malden Neil Desai tournament and played in the mixed event of boys and girls losing by one point in the final.
In other news Spencer are to form an England Squash Junior club team. The junior squash driven by John Gallard is growing in momentum. The junior section which has its training on Tuesday evenings has been bringing in kids whom themselves have grown into the sport. Spencers will be putting in a mixed U17 team with our 10 year old Thomas Hill leading the charge against other squash clubs in Surrey. The other players in the team are Xan Matuch (the young energetic American who's just joined the club) Thomas Wilson and Luca. Both Sophie and Annabelle Hill will also be in the team leading the charge. Our top junior Callum Duncan unfortunately misses the mark by being over the age group. Wish the team good luck in flying the club colours... ... See MoreSee Less

Another week - another great performance from Spencer Juniors.
Spencers Squash and it's Junior programme is slowly gaining strength and reputation. John Gallard's Elite programme is pushing the juniors towards competing with the very best juniors in the country.
Last weekend, 2 Spencer Juniors were contesting in the Neil Desai U13 final.
Sophie Hill beat Thomas Wilson in yet another closely fought battle they seem to be having regularly.
On Sunday, the 3 Hill Juniors were involved in playing for Surrey County in the Inter County Grand Prix for South East. Thomas & Annabelle Hill were the #1 seeds for the Boys and Girls U11 teams. Together with their team mates, Surrey won the day beating 5-0, Middlesex, Essex, Kent & Sussex and not dropping a game or match during the process! Well done all!
In the U13 team, Sophie Hill led the charge for the girls u13 #1 and was part of the winning team edging to win the tournament by beating, Kent A & B, Sussex, and Middlesex.
As they lost 3-2 to Kent B in a closely fought battle, it was down to the crucial final match where they had to up their game and beat Kent A 3-2, allowing them to win the tournament on points. Well done Sophie Hill for her part in gaining those vital points.
Spencer Squash Club again are proud of the juniors and we wish them the best of luck in their upcoming Inter County fixtures later this month. ... See MoreSee Less
